I was thinking about the passing of Michael all day at work yesterday and drew this. I have been so stunned. MJ's music was a big part of my life- my first live performance with my band was Billie Jean. He inspired me to pursue dancing and better myself as a vocalist. I am saddened that we've lost such a wealth of talent, and during his later years he never got the proper respect a man of his talent deserved. I gathered a lovely bunch of flowers and went to Signal Hill, sat at the seas edge and thought about all those times my best bud and I would rock out to Bad or Dangerous, painting my new house with my mother listening to Bad, or when my sisters and I used to sing his songs together. So many good times. I sang 'Smile' accapella- it was the first song I'd performed accapella, I remember, when I was 14- and cast the bouquet into the sea. That night that clubs were playing a tribute to Michael- all the good ones, bad, thriller, the way you make me feel, stop the love you save... I don't think I've ever danced so hard in my life!
So regarding the piece, "Get out of the way of the music" was Michael's explanation on how he went about making music- that more often than not, people tried to harness it instead of just going to the studio and letting it flow. Fabulous advice. The quote next to the picture was him explaining his driving factor for performing. Done in inks and leds.
MJ, you have provided me with countless happy memories with my loved ones, with my band, and I have met many beautiful people thanks to your music. More than that, you made me realize that every now and then someone really special comes along and for a moment, they unite everyone with that good vibe- that knowledge that this is something good and worth listening to. Like The Beatles, you grabbed the world's attention and shed some happiness through your music. There were days when I'd be feeling down or frustrated, and your music would lighten my spirits. Although many hearts are heavy at this time, there truly is nothing- not even death- that can sweep away the influence you've had on music. It's going to outlast the test of time, long after this unhappy moment. Thank you for the good times. You have well beyond earned your rest. <3
A beautiful tribute. 83 He will be missed by many.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
