If you all remember (no DUH if you love Sonic & Amy) episode 52, Sonic selected a single white rose to give to Amy. I drew this picture based on the true meaning of the white rose, and just what a strong gesture of love & devotion it is in the form of a gift.
---
Behind the White Rose:
It would be nice to ensure that you are communicating the right message to that special person. What then could be the meaning of white roses? The color white has always been synonymous with purity & virtue. And so hued in sincerity, when you need to convince that your affections are straight from the heart & are as pure as virgin snow, one would use a white rose. But there are more hidden meanings in a white rose than meets the eye. White has ever been a symbol of innocence, of a world unspoiled & untarnished. The white rose glorifies a love that is unaware of temptations & resides only deep within the soul. As opposed to the red rose that speaks of passionate promises, the meaning of a white rose is in its simplicity & pristine purity. Sometimes called "the flower of light", one of the meanings of white roses is everlasting love - love stronger than death, an eternal love, undying & all sustaining.
-Sonic X, episode 52-
I thought youd forgotten all about me, I thought you were gone forever! But then I realized... that you would never abandon me. And I decided that Id wait for you... even if it took the rest of my life to see you again. Now youre here...
Oh Im so glad to finally have you back Sonic its such a wonderful feeling! I dont think I've ever been as happy as I am right now... *sobbing* Dont you ever leave me again, Sonic the hedgehog!

The white rose speaks of a love that is sustained more by loyalty, reverence & humility than by red-blooded passion. So, in its capacity to worship someone till death, the meaning of a white rose is unchanging loyalty that endures beyond all else.

Credit goes of course to Sonic Team for the dahling Sonic & Amy, & screencaps from teamartail.com/sonicx, which is my favorite place to go for screencaps from the show. X3 I used screen caps from the show for reference for this one, but please don't suggest that I may have traced or I WILL cry.

I put a lot of effort into drawing this accurately.
This picture was done entirely in pencil aside from the touch of pink on the edges. I decided to add in green, my favorite color- and of course the eye color of both subjects. ;3 I thought in case you all didn't know the formal meanings behind giving a rose, you might enjoy this romantic little bit- it seems our boy Sonic has quite the sentimental flare for flower giving, hmm?

"Love stronger than death, an eternal love, undying & all sustaining."
Enjoy, Devs. x3

I'm gonna have a heart attack ; u ;
This is so adorable it hurts <33
Honestly, I just wonder how people can say that Sonic hates Amy, or that he finds her to be a burden. This scene in Sonic X was one of the most touching moments I've ever seen on a TV show :'3 Why would they have made that scene the way they did, with all the sparkles and the warm sunlight and the lovely music, if they weren't supposed to be paired together? That's why I just don't like Archie Sonic at all, they act like these things never happened between the two of them and make Sonic act like a jerk to her.
PEOPLE. THIS CAME FROM JAPAN. YUJI NAKA, THE MAN THAT GAVE BIRTH TO SONIC. IT'S REAL. DEAL WITH IT.
Since Sonic grows (he is now 20 technically) he matures with age and this has been shown in recent games. You see his transition in games like Sonic Zero Gravity and Sonic Unleashed from being agitated by Amy to having a playful banter with her and enjoying her company. He shows genuine concern for her well being, and even shows that he cares what she thinks of him (sonamy scene in Sonic Unleashed). The article I posted that quotes Sonic Team explains that although Sonic has feelings for Amy, he's too shy to show it.
I don't know if Sonic Team would ever come right out and get Sonic to voice whatever he feels, and I would not mind if they did or didn't.
